Mobile Safety App user privacy is prioritized (no health information is stored or displayed).

  • Tab Badges – The Emergency Calls, Incoming Tips, and Send Notifications tabs will now display badges in each respective tab’s top-right corner to notify the Portal User of unattended items within the tab.
  • Incident Types for Emergency Calls – Administrators can now require that an Incident Type be selected by the Dispatcher before archiving an Emergency Call. Incident Types can be managed under Settings > General Settings > Incident Types.

Mobile Safety App Updates

  • Watch Groups – Watch Groups allow for Mobile Safety App users to be assigned to a specific geofence. Watch Groups can be created under Settings > General Settings > Watch Groups. Once a Watch Group is created, it can be assigned to a geofence.

Mass Notification System Updates

All Active Notifications will appear at the top, above saved notifications, to remind Portal Users to attend to them.

NOTE: Various bug fixes and improvements to the overall system have been implemented in addition to the above items.

bAlert 6.3.0 Release Notes

General Updates

  • Analytics Heatmap – The Analytics section now contains a heatmap for the Emergency Calls and Incoming Tips Portal functions. This heatmap shows geographical data pertaining to these functions and can be sorted by date range.
  • Zone Selector Search Bars – Zone selector search bars are now available for features supporting the zone selector option in the portal.

Computer Panic Button Updates

  • Added “Open Log Folder” Button – Computer Panic Button users can right-click the icon in the Windows system tray, click “Details”, and then click “Open Log Folder” to view log files.
  • Computer User Phone Number Displayed – Dispatchers can see the available phone number of a computer user if their Computer Panic Button is activated. This information is displayed along with other data in the Emergency Calls tab. A phone number can only be displayed if it is available within the Active Directory.

Mass Notification System Updates

  • Ask Recipients If They Are Safe During An Emergency – The “Ask recipients if they’re SAFE” feature allows you to ask your Recipients if they’re safe during an emergency. Recipients can respond by clicking a button for either “SAFE” or “NOT SAFE” via multiple methods of sending. Comprehensive data (including a heatmap of respondents) is then presented within the Portal as results come in.
  • NOAA/NWS Weather Alerts – You can now have weather alerts automatically sent to your entire community when certain weather events take place. You can configure these alerts to be sent based on specific parameters provided by NOAA’s National Weather Service.
  • Targeted Sending with “My Locations” – Community members can now register their physical address from the Mobile Safety App interface or the community profile webpage. This will allow them to receive notifications sent to their targeted area. Portal Users who send mass notifications can then restrict sending to targeted geofences which will inform the users with registered addresses in that area.
  • Return of App Alerts with Improved Deliverability – App Alerts can send push notifications to Mobile Safety App users who are part of a Group or within a targeted geofence at the time of sending. Real-time targeted sending using App Alerts can bolster mass notification deliverability (deliverability success rates for App Alerts are dependent upon each user’s smartphone operating system restrictions).

NOTE: Various bug fixes and improvements to the overall system have been implemented in addition to the above items.
